Getting to Cracow:

By plane

You can get to Kraków directly from many european cities (you can check them here ). You'll arrive to Balice Airport, which is situated 15 km from Kraków. Then you can either take a train to the main station which costs 6 PLN (2 euro), or go by bus 292 for 3 PLN (1 euro) or night bus 902 - get off at the stop named "Plac Inwalidów". Then you can take the tram number 13 or 24 and get off at the stop named "Starowiślna"

From Katowice Airport
It is also possible to arrive to the Katowice Airport (about 150 km from Kraków). Form the Katowice Airport you can take the bus directly to Krakow or to the Katowice Center and than take the train to Krakow.

From Warsaw Okecie Airport
A convenient connection is also through the Warsaw Airport Okecie. From the airport one has to take a taxi (20 minutes), public bus No. 175 which costs 4,20 PLN (1,5 euro) or private airport bus to reach in approx. 30 minutes the train station "Warszawa Centralna". In the Warsaw Airport, do NOT accept offers of a ride. If you want to take a taxi, go up to the airport departure section and get an arriving taxi with a phone number on the top. Also, you can try to order a taxi by phone, call e.g. 919, 9622, or 9661. Do NOT take a taxi from the arrival level. Pay-phone tokens or phone cards can be purchased at the Post Office at the upper (departure) level. If you want to go sightseeing in Warsaw, leave your luggage first in a locker at the railway station.

From the train station in Warsaw there are a number of regular trains to Krakow. A price of the ticket to Kraków is 48 zl for the second class place, (5 hours travel). Inter City and Express costs about 90 zl but you can reach the Krakow in 3 hours.  For the first class one has to pay 50% more. Inter C
As there are sometimes long queues in the station it is a good idea to buy a train ticket in advance in the airport Orbis office. It is also possible to buy a ticket from the conductor - then you have to pay about 3 zl more. In Kraków you disembark the train in the main station KRAKÓW GLOWNY (the only station for IC and Ex trains).

By train

You can get to Kraków by train from the following cities: Berlin, Bratislava, Bucuresti, Budapest, Dresden, Frankfurt (both), Kiev, Kosice, Lviv, Odessa, Praha and Wien. Of course you can also take a train from any polish city - here is the schedule.

By bus

There are many international lines to Kraków. The biggest are Sindbad and Eurolines, but there are also many other.

By car

Also possible. Krakow can be approached by road either on the E77 motorway from Warsaw and the north of the country or via the E40 or A4 from the east and west of Krakow. You can plan your route here


From Main Station (Dworzec Główny)

Take either a tram 13 , 24 or tram 34 and get off at the stop named "Starowiślna".
